Cat Diet - Vitamin Supplement Recipe

Waiting for Your Kitten
Make sure your cat’s diet includes all suggested meats, organs, eggs, salmon or sardines.

Ingredients :
·         Salt—20 gm ( 1 level tablespoon)
·         Iron—9 capsules of NOW 18 mg Chelated Iron Biglycinate
·         Manganese—3 capsules of TWIN LABS 10 mg Chelated Manganese
·         Iodine—3 tables of NOW Kelp with Iodine standardized to 150 mcg Iodine per tablet (from standardized kelp)
·         Folic Acid—3 capsules or tables of NOW Folic Acid 800 mcg with B12
·         Vitamin E—3 capsules or tablets (powdered form)
·         Taurine—25 capsules of NOW Taurine 1 gm capsules

Method :
  1. Measure all ingredients into your vitamiser, coffee grinder or blender.
  3. Make sure the lid is on tightly.
  5. There is no need to break or open the capsules—just grind them all up.

To use :
Stir your mineral and vitamin supplement mix every time you use it as the ingredients can settle.

Serving Amounts:
  • For 1 cup of food use just a bare 1/8 teaspoonful
  • If your cat’s diet does not include all that is recommended—meats, organs (offal), eggs, and sardines or salmon—then your cat will need additional copper, zinc and Vitamin D.

The Basic Rules :
·         Use fresh human quality lean meats
·         Meats are best served raw
·         Vary the source of your cat’s proteins
·         Fats are provided by the inclusion of sardines and other beneficial oils and fats
·         Dark meat in chicken and turkey provides higher levels of some nutrients

Additional fibre will not normally be required, but if your cat is constipated, add a small amount of ground pysllium.
